First Baby Chimes of 2025

Strategy & Process

Produced a heartwarming New Year’s Day video celebrating the first babies born at Baystate Medical Center in 2025, building on the success of a previous Baby Chime post. This carefully crafted content captured the magic of new life in the new year, while honoring a beloved hospital tradition.

I collaborated with labor and delivery leadership to align on strategy, educate the team, and ensure seamless content capture—including providing clear guidelines for filming births outside of my availability. Thanks to this preparation, nurses captured the first Baby Chime moment around 4 a.m., preserving a key moment before I arrived later that morning to gather additional footage.

I edited the video with a heartfelt song and optimized it for rapid, same-day publication across Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook. The final video generated widespread engagement, reaching over 425,000 users across platforms, and became one of Baystate Health’s most viral videos to date.

#Bayshake Challenge 

Strategy & Process

Executed a 24-hour turnaround for a social media challenge promoting Dunkin’ Iced Coffee Day, from concept to production to reel sharing. The campaign aimed to drive engagement and raise awareness, supporting fundraising efforts for the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation, which directly benefited Baystate Children’s Hospital.

I collaborated with the facility dog handler to capture engaging clips, traveling to local Dunkin’ locations for on-site filming. Edited the video in CapCut, paired it with trending audio, and strategically shared it across Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok, launching the #BayShake hashtag. The campaign encouraged followers to grab an iced coffee, show off their coffee shake, and share their videos—boosting participation and supporting Dunkin’ Iced Coffee Day fundraising.

Nurse Night at Fenway

Strategy & Process

Produced an energetic ‘Come with Me’ style reel featuring Baystate Health nurse Jess Hicks, who was honored at Red Sox Nurse Night. This fast-paced, engaging video brought viewers along for the celebration, while showcasing Jess’s dedication and impact as a healthcare hero.

Collaborated with Jess to develop a content strategy, identifying key moments to capture compelling footage and photos that created a cohesive narrative. Wrote a voiceover script to align seamlessly with the visuals.

I edited the video using CapCut, incorporating dynamic transitions and a lively soundtrack to enhance the storytelling. The reel was optimized for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube, and a collaboration with Nurse.org was secured to expand reach. The YouTube link was also shared internally across the health system, further amplifying engagement.

Nurse Educator Jess Hicks was recently honored on the field during this year’s @redsox Nurse Night celebration! Walk through the day with Jess as she makes her way to Fenway! ⚾

Jess was nominated for this once in a lifetime recognition following her impactful Nursing Grand Rounds presentation, “Healing Hands, Resilient Hearts: A Nurse’s Experience and a Survivor’s Triumph in the Trauma ICU” which told the powerful story of trauma survivor, Ashley Piccirilli.

During the Nursing Grand Rounds, Jess shared, “My main inspiration for the presentation came when I was asked why I love this specialty. And the first thing I thought of was a patient I took care of who had a detrimental traumatic injury and now is able to live her whole life because of the care we provided here at Baystate. So it’s the happy endings which is really the reason I love trauma care.”

Jess is an incredible nurse educator who always goes the extra mile to make sure our surgical trauma ICU patients receive the best care. Jess leaves a positive impact each and every day and in our opinion, honoring her during Nurses Night was a home run! 

Thank you for always working to ensure more patients can have happy endings, Jess.

Santa's Special Stop

Strategy & Process

Captured heartwarming moments as Santa made a special visit to the Davis NICU during the 2023 holiday season, bringing joy to Baystate Health’s tiniest patients. This reel highlighted the health system’s dedication to compassionate care, showcasing the warmth and support provided to families throughout their healthcare journey.

I filmed and edited the video using CapCut, pairing the footage with trending audio to enhance its emotional impact. The reel was strategically shared across Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok to maximize engagement and strengthen community connection.

Let’s Talk STIs

Strategy & Process

Developed a dynamic and engaging reel to address the growing rates of STIs both locally and nationally, with the goal of educating the community on prevention, testing, and treatment. In collaboration with an infectious disease specialist, we crafted a message that balanced humor with essential sexual health information, making it both relatable and impactful. Through creative production, animations, sound effects, and custom graphics, we ensured the content was not only informative but highly shareable.

I filmed and edited the video using CapCut and Canva, incorporating animated graphics and special effects to bring a fun, engaging twist to this serious topic. The final content was shared across Instagram and TikTok

Baystate Baby Chime

Strategy & Process

Created an impactful video that celebrated one of Baystate Health’s most cherished traditions—the Baby Chime. By capturing heartwarming, personal moments, I aimed to deepen the emotional connection with our audience, bringing the human side of the brand to the forefront and resonating with families, the community, and team members alike.

I filmed each clip on location at Baystate Medical Center and coordinated the storytelling behind the creator of the Baby Chime. Using CapCut, I meticulously edited the footage, crafting a compelling narrative optimized for engagement. The final reel was shared across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube, with the YouTube link further circulated internally throughout the health system.

This special announcement of a baby’s birth began when Shirley was the labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum nurse manager at Baystate Medical Center, and it was so well loved that when she became nurse manager of The Birthplace at BFMC, the chime came with her.
 
The hope is that the magical melody will bring happy news and peace to patients and visitors during their hospital stay and to those who care for them.
